Frequently Asked Questions

  • I practice remotely throughout California, offering a fully virtual therapy experience. This means we can work together wherever you are, as long as you're grounded somewhere in our beautiful state. With a virtual practice, you have the flexibility and convenience of accessing therapy from your own space, eliminating commute time and making it easier to fit sessions into your busy life. Whether you’re in a quiet corner of Northern California, the heart of Los Angeles, or along the Central Coast, I’m here to support you.

  • Yes, I conduct all sessions via video on the HIPPA compliant platform, Simple Practice. Prior to each session, you will receive a unique link for that week’s session.

  • I do not maintain a physical office and conduct all sessions via video on the HIPPA compliant platform, Simple Practice. Research indicates that online therapy can lead to the same improvements in mental health as face-to-face therapy, making it a powerful option for those who may face barriers to in-person care. Virtual therapy removes the need for travel, making it easier to fit sessions into a busy schedule or to find a private space for therapy wherever you feel most comfortable. It can be a lifeline for individuals who live in remote areas, have mobility limitations, or face challenges attending in-office appointments.

It is understandable to wonder if online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy. In my experience, many clients have found online counseling even more comfortable than traditional in-person therapy. Since sessions happen in a familiar environment, it’s often easier to open up and feel at ease.

Note: Online counseling is not appropriate for those actively in crisis. If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, please call the suicide hotline 1-800-273-8255, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.

  • My standard fee is $250 for a 50-minute session, and most clients see me once a week, though greater frequency may be advised depending on the issues we are addressing. In certain cases, I may be able to slide my fee to accommodate your financial limitations or refer you to an associate therapist in my practice.

  • While I’m not an in-network provider for insurance, I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm your out-of-network benefits, including details on your deductible, coverage amounts, and the number of sessions covered. If you have a PPO, there’s a good chance you’ll be partially reimbursed. Please note, if you choose to seek reimbursement, I am required to include a diagnosis on the superbill, which will become part of your medical record.

  • The length of our time together will be guided by your unique needs and goals in therapy. Some clients come to address a specific issue or life event and may feel complete after a shorter, focused period. Others find that therapy becomes an ongoing, supportive space as they navigate evolving challenges and personal growth. My therapeutic style leans toward longer-term work, emphasizing deeper growth and transformation. Whether you’re seeking short-term guidance or a more extended journey, we’ll shape our work to meet you where you are, adapting as your life and circumstances change.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
